Identifying Vegetative Climate Zones in Fars Province with Emphasis on the Spread of Pistachio Forests

To determine effect of the climatic factors on distribution of Wild pistachio (pistacia atlantica) forests in Fars province, data of 32 synoptic stations were collected. 26 climatic variables based on their ecological importance were tested and were distinguished by using Principal component analysis most effective climatic variables on wild pistachio forest type's distribution. Temperature, rainfall and wind were the most important elements to climatic conditions on the wild pistachio forest types in the province with 85.9% of data variations. In 4 main wild pistachio forest types include Persian Oak-wild pistachio, Maple -Wild pistachio, Almond- Wild pistachio and dominant wild pistachio, the component scores and mean of them were calculated and the level of effects on temperature, rainfall, wind and the other primary climatic variables on forest types were estimated. For determine on land elevation effect on wild pistachio forest type, the digital elevation map of Fars province prepared. The advantages showed that the most effective climatic elements in Persian Oak- Wild pistachio forest type was rain which had more component score in western forest of province with 1601 m mean altitude. In Maple - Wild pistachio type, the score of temperature was less than the other factors that proved this forest type sensitive in increase of temperature. Temperature is a positive factor for dominant wild pistachio type growing. Over all, Almond- Wild pistachio forest type has more tolerant in front of altitude and climatic factors variations that is causes of presentation this forest type in various climatic areas in Fars province.
